RegisterLearn to train your dog like a zoo keeper! This class is all about teaching you the different ways to get more complex behaviors through a combination of shaping and luring. This class challenges your dog to be an equal contributor in the training process and to really get his head in the game to work with you to reach a common goal, while turning somewhat tedious or unpleasant situations into fun games. Teaching your dog to voluntarily participate in daily necessities builds his confidence and makes both of your lives easier!
The class starts off introducing the concept of shaping to develop complex behaviors. It then focuses on teaching some basic husbandry behaviors (things like offering paws for nail trims, target training, “getting dressed” by putting on collar / harness, choosing to wear a cone, etc.). The class develops into individual study where students can experiment with developing more complex behaviors of their own design with staff assistance. Your imagination is the limit of what can be accomplished in this class!

Age: 6 months+
Vaccinations: Current in vaccination schedule as determined by your veterinarian and state law. A signed veterinary release is required.
Prerequisite: Completion of an Owners-Only Orientation session for new students
Duration: 1-hour sessions for four consecutive weeks
Cost: $115

*Manners I class is recommended to get the most out of this class, but is not required.
**YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND AN ORIENTATION SESSION IN ADDITION TO REGISTERING FOR CLASS (unless you have already attended orientation for one of our other classes). YOUR START DATE FOR CLASS MUST BE AFTER YOUR CHOSEN ORIENTATION DATE**
